Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer sprinkled or mixed with powdered gold. The scars are believed to add to the beauty of the object, making it a unique work of art. This way of thinking has similarities with the Japanese Wabi Sabi philosophy of embracing the flawed or imperfect.
